Guys (especially L.A. residents), who had requested a name change, where have you had your ceremonines?

Ans: follow the big crowd

To your question: I think people having name changes just follow the crowd. I have my name changed and I know I will have the same oath ceremory as my friend who does not have one.

The ceremonies are the same but while an applicant that did not request a name change can take part in a administrative ceremony( some done inside ins ) and judicial ceremony ,
The applicant that requested a name change has to go tru judicial ceremony only, either done by state or federal system .
This is only my guess , it is very hard to guess how the system works

Is my understanding that the Oath ceremony is always conducted by a Judge. Am I right? And the Judge has the power to do the name change.

Suzy , since you're a woman you always right :D , however i read on this forum that some applicants took the oath inside their local USCIS , that is what is called administrative ceremony

Thank you, I appreciate it :D

My question for you is: Oath taken inside the local USCIS is conducted by whom? A Judge? ...I know an old expression says: "If Mohammed doesn't come to the mountain then the mountain will come to Mohammed". :D

judiciary ceremony == done by a judge
administrative ceremony == executive branch in charge ( in our case USCIS)
and if i come to think of long long time ago i read somewhere that the congress has the power to grant you citizenship in "speccial ocassions or circumstances )

Long long ago I've dated this puerto rican girl called Suzy , and everytime i would mess up she would treathen me with calling her brother that lived 250 miles away to come and kick my ass , I see that you already changed colors on me so i am gona hide in a corner now and you wont be hearing from me :p

Don't worry about colors :D As for the name association with the name of your long, long ago girlfriend, trust me it's just a coincidence of names. ;)
