Spam? - I94 Issue

I apologize - I was not sure which board this should be posted on.

During a visit to Social Security (to correct my date of birth after my tax return was rejected by IRS because the date of birth in SSA was different from my return), the social security clerk found out that my I94 says H1 instead of H1B and asked me to go to immigration to correct this.

Does anybody have experience with this kind of issue?
Is this a *mistake* that needs to be corrected?

lawaiter02,

IMHO, this is a non-issue. That SSA clerk was way too picky for an average clerk, and definitely asking for too much.

See if you can file I-102 to correct the I-94. You may even get out without paying the filing fee, if it was not your mistake. Just follow this link and read the instructions: http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-102.htm

you could tell her/him this:

"the difference between stupidity and intelligence is that stupidity has no limits."

I Agree with GCJhalak.

Those idiots seem to be paid to make other's life misserable and they can't think for themselves. Just go to another SS Office and observe the clerks when waiting on line. Pick one that looks like is trying to help people and they should give it to you.
Good luck.
