SPAM : How do I know the url for a particular post in a thread

How do I know the url for a particular post in a thread? If I want to draw attention of a friend via email, to one post in a big thread , how do I get the URL of that post?

I don't know how other people do it, but my hammer and egg way is to click on the "search" button at the bottom of the post and it usually throws up a search page for the user's post. Locate the post you want to highlight and click on the link that will take you right there and voila in the address bar you will have the thread and post numbers.

One way of doing it.
Go to the post you want to link to. Hover over the “buttons” , “edit” or “quote” and the status bar of your browser shows a URL. The last number is the post id use this id
Take the URL of the thread and append #post[post id]
Example:
The url of this thread :
http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123968
The id of second post (found using the way described above) is 765702
URL to the post is
http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123968#post765702
