SPAM!!! GC and realestate

Have been in US for 6 yrs, 4 in bay area. Have seen house prices skyrocket and never stopping.

I dont think the prices will drop, especially in the mid market segments. Reasons are simple.. lots of job opportunities (yes, even after Outsourcing) and recovering economy (albeit slowly). Remember, I am talking about mid market segments.

The only problem in bay area is mid market segment house prices. Folks in rest of country talk about 350K as avg price. In bay area, suddenly the stakes rise to 500+ for a decent 3bdr house within 40min-1 hr commute. That raises the bar very high.

Invest only if you "feel" you are stable. Job wise as well as time wise. Dont think about buying house in bay area just because you think you would be here for 2 years.
