Driver's license experience in PA!!

Hi,
Thought I will share my experience of the same. I moved from TX to PA to work for a different client. (Same employer) I am on A.O.S working on E.A.D. When I and my wife went to change the license, DMV rejected our application saying we can get it only when we get our approval. :(

that's strange

linuxguy123, try posting your concern in VSC forum, maybe somebody will have some suggestions.
I have read on earlier occassions that EAD was fine for renewals except that your license expires the day one's EAD expires.

So for the inefficiency of BCIS we face problems everywhere !!!

Thanks
sgi

PA DOT will convert TX to PA Drivers license only if I submit the proof that I am eligible to stay in US for more than a year. My H1 has expired. There is no end date in I-485. EAD will be given for one year. So they said they will not convert my license to PA.

Now I don’t care If policemen ask why you still have TX license I will tell him the reason. If he still gives me ticket I will fight in the court saying PA DOT didn’t give the license.

Don't you worry linuxguy, same thing happened to my fr in boston. He was told by the DMV person, and I quote, "you are lucky you have a valid georgia licence", he drove around with the georgia licence till he got his GC.
You'll get yours too, in the meantime, try not getting too close to a cop. ;)

IDP is valid as a license on the US roads for only 3 months...no matter what is the expiration date of the IDP.....
Ha, Ha

linuxguy

Linuxguy,

I moved to Pittsburgh last year April. I tried to obtain DL. DMV denied it because my I-94 was expiring with in a year. If you have a DL which is valid for long time, keep it. If your visa is expired, the dumb guys woudn't understand your 485 is pending, they may take your DL and simply deny to issue new one from PA.

When Social Security was started in the 1930s, less than half the population lived beyond age 65. Sixteen people of working age paid for the benefits of a single person receiving social security benefits. Today, 86% of the population lives beyond age 65 and only four people of working age are available to pay the benefits.
Their aim is probably to have a record number of working class in here working towards the maintenance of the Social Security funds. And since catholics do not practice birth control guess how many working people will be bred in 20 years.
And all of it may be BS again. They only want their votes. Give them DL and next give them citizenship. And they'll be your votebank.
