Sorry, stupid question about payment for forms

Hi all,

Sorry for the stupid question, but I could not seem to find this anywhere.... How do you physically enclose the payment for the I-131/I-485 packages? Do you place the check in a separate envelope? Do you place it in a plastic bag and staple it to a page in your packet so it can be in the order you mentioned on your cover letter? I'm lost.

I placed my check on top of all my papers.

Make sure it is made out to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Also, I would recommend putting down in the memo line the name of applicant, and their A# if they already have one or their date of birth.
