Sorry guys, the gov't has appealed.

cap elimination

that is bad news, but hardly surprising...

has anyone heard anything about the bill to eliminate the 10,000 adjustment cap for asylees? i read somewhere that congress was planning to pass the bill late last year but i don't know what's the current status on it.

Yes, the losing party at the second level can ask the full Court of Appeal and/or the Supreme Court to review the case.

Feels like it beats the purpose of the lawsuit doesn't it? It's not going to matter to those who will mostly benefit from the lawsuit because they probably have already been approved by then, and a movement of 22,000 would hardly be felt by those who have to wait a decade or more.

Congress needs to eliminate the 10,000 cap or change how the asylum is administered. If the current system goes on, those who submit their I-485s in 2015 will have to wait their whole life to get adjusted. The current U.S. asylum system is such a joke.
