i have three following questions about H1. my situation is:
Right now, i am on OPT which is valid till 08/15. My employer is willing to file for my H1 now. if my H1 is approved, then i will be able to work from Oct 1st. Becos my OPT will expire on 08/15. i know i have two monthes grace period till 10/15, but that is for F1, not for OPT. so, i wont be able to work from 08/15 to 10/01.
Now, my questions are:
1) what will happen from 08/15 to 10/01? what is that i need to do? just wait? or i have to enroll for Fall classes? my grace period will end on 10/15.
2) i have heard that in this case, even though the H1 can be approved the "change of status" wont be approved and i have to go back to my own country to change it. Is there any way i can avoid that as of right now since i have to join work from october itself at fulltime basis.
3) In this scenarios, Premium or regular processing make any difference?
