I will take my Oath in 10 days, after that I’m going to apply for a Passport for me and for my 13 years old son who live with me here in Miami. He’s going to need my Naturalization Certificate, his Resident Card and a Birth Certificate. Do I have to translate this Birth Certificate (born in Cuba) for this purpose?

Yes. You will need original birth certificate, its photocopy and a certified, notarized translation. If only one parent will be present at the time of his application, notarized consent from another parent (see Department of State official website for the form) will also be needed.

Thanks jigesh

Thanks jigesh. So I'm going to get a notarized translation to the birth certificate ASAP and my wife, my son and me will be present at the time of the application.

The translator (which can be you) need to certify at the end of translation something like this and sign before the notary:

"Translations: Any foreign language document must be accompanied by a full English translation that the translator has certified as complete and correct, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate the foreign language into English."
