Please Note: I130/I485 pending as well as I140 approved/I485 pending
Hello all,
I have a I140 approved and I485 pending at NSC through my employer. This was a long time ago. Later on my wife became a US citizen and I filed I130/I485 based on our marriage. I filed the I130, I 485, AP and EAD mid Jan 2010 and got biometrics done mid Feb 2010. After that there have been no updates to the I130/I485 case. Typically people receive interview letter in a month, but I haven't gotten one yet. It has been a little over month after my FP.
We are traveling overseas this summer and hence am in a little rush of getting the interview done and if possible passport stamped.
I have received approved AP document. So travelling should not be a problem. However, my concern is that we will be overseas for 4 months in summer and what if I get the interview letter then. No one that I can rely to check mails in the neighborhood.
So,
1) What happens if I miss the letter and the interview date?
2) If I miss the interview, would my 130/1485 get denied. If that does happen would my AP (which is based on 130) get "canceled"? If I cannot enter the US, that will mess up things at a whole new level.
3) Is there any way I can speed up at least getting the interview done?
I called the USCIS yesterday and the customer service lady simply read out what is displayed on the web when you check your case status. No help at all.
Thanks!
