Some questions from a new comer

Hello guys. I am a F-1 student majored in chemistry and do not have paper published in the USA, hopefully, next year I can get my master thesis published (I only have a paper published in my home country as a second author).
I will get my MS degree next year and I plan to have Ph.D degree after that.

I never think about that I can apply GC during my graduate study. But one of my friends suggests me to look into EB11 because she knows that I have got national violin prizes in my home country, plus I also got prizes in national english contest for college students. She thinks that I might want to try to apply for EB11 to try my luck because I have some national prizes.

I am not sure about that, because I think the prizes that I got do not belongs to chemistry field, so they do not count!
If any of you guys have any suggestions to me, please share with me. I would greatly appriciate it! Thanks ahead of time!
 
Thank you for your info.
I guess I should still concentrate on my research, trying to publish more papers in the future and interact with more big guys in my field.
