I plan to travel to CHina using AP. My current visa is H1B. my I94 card is still the I94 card when i was a student with student visa.

My question are

that when I leave this country, should I give the officer my I-94 card?

When I enter this country using AP, should I fill out a I94 card?

Beside AP document and my passport, what esle should I carry with me when I come back? Thanks for answer!

My status:

I140 approval
I485 pending

I was same situation as you. I140 approved, 485 still pending. One month ago, I went back China, and returned USA after 2 weeks.

Your first question
You need return the most updated I-94 form before you board on air plane.

When you are back USA, you need fill a new I-94 form even you don't have a visa.

You also need bring your original copy of your H-1B approval notice with you. By the way, you need bring two copies of your AP if you have duplicate of your AP. I brought one copy since I found they exact same. When I entered custom, the office in the custom hall ask me to go to a small room to double check. At that time, I didn't know why he asked me to go to the small room. When my wife went back USA, they told her, she should carry the duplicate copy of AP. For this reason, she spent half to one hour for this double check in the small room.
You have a good trip to China
