Some Questions about my Interview Letter Received

Hi All,

Please give me your suggestions on the following questions I have about my Interview letter?

Well...my case history is as follows:

1) PD: Aug 21, 2006
2) FP: Sep 06, 2006
3) NC: Name Check Intisated after FP, and I dont know if it has been
cleared
4) IL Issued: Jun 07, 2007
5) ID: Interview Scheduled on August 1, 2007

Here are my questions:

1) I have received I797C, stating that my ionterview is scheduled on Aug 1, 2007. The I797C says "Request For Applicant To Appear For Naturalization Initial Interview"...

Q:1a) Do I need to worry about this "initial interview thing" what does it mean when it says initial interview.

Q:1b) Is I797C different than I797. Has some one got I797C, and has his/her citizenship approved during the interview.

2) I have gotten this interview call after about a year or so after my priority date of Aug 21, 2006.

Q:2) Does it mean my namecheck has been cleared? Is there a way I could verify that?

I will appreciate if you suggest on the above questions asap.

thanks

As far as I know, every interview letter says "...Initial Interview". I think it's so they can keep their options open and call you back. Don't worry about it.

USCIS policy now says that they don't conduct interviews until name check clears. If you have your interview, then in all likelihood, you will have cleared name check (but, they do screw things up).

Interview letters are *always* good news. However, if you want to be gloomy, there's about a month's time between now and Aug 1 where you could get a "deschedule" letter - not that that happens very often.

Go out and celebrate.
