Some hope - finally

As I am checking my USCIS portfolio now - I see my last updated date is day before yesterday 5/9/2004.

I guess that means INS is working on my file now. I am wac-02-139***

Some hope for 139-ers?????

My "last updated" has changed at least four times

I really don't believe it means someone is looking at the file and about
to approve me. I think the dates probably change in response to some
software sweep they do probably for accounting purposes. On the site
it indicates that the date will change with no change in status, they
could have said that means IIO Jose Santiago is about to adjudicate
your case but they don't.

On one occasion my date changed at the same time as my EAD got
approved.

On the other hand lets stay optimistic. Although we don't have Kashmir
stats anymore and therefore we are totally blind the trend was an increase
in activity. So lets stay positive. wac-02-147-5xxxx

I don't think that last update has too much meaning. In this forum, I came to know one major last update date is 05/04/04. The JIT came out on 05/06/04. Then my lawyer faxed an enquiry on 05/06/04, then our last-update-date changed to 05/07/04. Pretty meaningless.

our WAC is 02-131. Same case. It is not touched since 2002. Sent fax enquiry one week back. No change in touched date.

I don't think last udate is meaningless. I have been doing some research on
this. And the thing that I seem to notice is that if these dates change even
without status change then expect something in a week to couple of weeks
time. The date 05/04/04 appears for many applications. There is something
to it. That is for sure. As I do more research I think I might know better. Plus
I will know better when they change. Will keep you posted.

Desi-bartender,

I do think the update date is meaningless. In my case the last update date was 04/07/04 and my wife's was 02/07/04 (yes Feb!) and then suddenly we got RFE (both) and then the date changed to 05/11/04. Go figure.

My last updated date was 04/07/04. Nothing has happend since then. It is over a month. I believe it has no meaning, pl.correct me if I am wrong.

It probably was a typo for your wife's update date.

Have you received RFE by mail. If you received, you are close to approval. Good luck!

mango_pickle,

I dont think it is a typo. The date corresponds to the day when they should have recieved the 2nd FP notice. For me it is the day on which I registered for email notification. And now the RFE. So the touch dates correspond to some evnets in my case. And today when I checked, they have touch date of today! What did they do today? Some internal processing? I dont know, but no status change.
