Soliciting inputs on H1 extension, job change, LC -Help
Folks,
I enter into my 6th year of H1 in 15 business days time (Sep 10th). My Labor has been applied in CA, normal process for over 18 months. But my company is laying off people, and good chance I'd be asked to go too.
I'm on the verge of getting an offer from another company. I'll be left with 10 days to get into my 6th year of H1. Now, my biggest question...
1)To satisfy the 365 days rule for allowing 7th year extension, is it okay for the new company to file for the labor first, and worry about H1 transfer later? Or is it mandatory that H1 transfer be either done first or concurrantly to let me extend past 7th year?
2) What's the fastest time it'd be possible for a lawyer to file for Labor certification, assuming I've got all the documents ready from my end?
Your inputs are sincerely appreciated.
Regards,
Prett
