I am not sure if any one has faced the same problem but I would like to let others be aware that such thing can happen.
My POE was on 25th July and wife's was on 27th July at LOS ANGELES. After gathering information from this forum we walked to SSA office and submitted the application for my wife for SSN and myself to remove the stamp of VALID WITH INS AUTH...
Last friday me and my wife recieved SSN cards, my wife's was new so we didn't have any doubt but in my case a NEW NUMBER was issued. I was surprised and today again we walked to the SSA office and we explained to the officer the officer was surprised to see that as she looked at the information and found that SSA office haven't send us card yet and these cards might have come from Immigration Dept (Baltimore). The stamp on the Envelop for both of us were from Baltimore.
She told both of us that the number assigned were wrong as me and my wife has two different SSN numbers (one from SSA office and one from Immigration off.) on our name which is absolutely not possible to have it.
She took back both of our cards and told us a new card will be sent in 7 to 10 busniess days with new number for my wife and the same old number of mine.
To add to above the SSN issued by immigration office starts with "7"
I will update with any further info I will have in coming days.
