With all that has been experienced and written on this forum about issues with RTD and RP, I would like to know how to respond when I re-enter the US in the near future. I have a RP and will be traveling internationally very soon. Getting a NP is not an option for me, so my question is, when they ask me why I am not traveling with my NP what do I say without having to re-live my whole asylum interview over and over again at POEs?

My lawyer told me that this new "travel initiative" that is put in place starting Jan 23 is causing all this mess. These people are not trained properly so they are asking for passports from everyone. He has written a letter to USCIS with my RP application, asking as to why "my client was abused for no apparent reason"...lets see what they do or reply.

I would say if you reenter U.S, make sure you let them know that your visit was for less than 6 months and reason you don't have a NP because you didn't renew it. You may be sent to secondary inspection until these dorks figure out that RP is consiered a travel document by USCIS....

Do not mention asylum etc or Refugee Travel Document. Other smart people who have travelled with RP can answer as to how they respond to this question when they enter...

14ksusha? Cadel? Nas? Lazer? Please input your thoughts...

Take your greencard, RP and NP together. Once they ask you your passport, show all of them. When they ask you why you can't renew national passport tell them that you can't. They can't do anything, but they may harrass you little bit depending on the character of the IO you meet......
