reassured! could you please answer me this

I got my green card back in 2005 (June) through my mother who is an American citizen
in Sept on the same yr I married the father of my child who is also a citizen
( why didn't i get him through him its a long story)
anyway, In sept of 2008 it will be 3 yrs married to a citizen
I know that I can start applying up to 90 days in advanced but my father says that I have to wait 5 yrs because I got the green card through my mother not my husband
who's right?

Check out the Guide to Naturalization. My understanding is that if you have had a green card and have been married to a US Citizen for 3 years, then you are eligible for naturalization. It doesn't matter how you got your green card.

It doesn't matter how you get you GC. What matters is that you've been married to the USC for three years and stay married until the process is completed.

Correct.

You can apply after 3 years of marriage to a USC and 3 years minus 90 days of continuous residence as an LPR (whichever is the later date).
