Everything was a breeze. The officer took less than 2 mins to go through my docs. The lady at the cash counter kept me waiting for about 5 mins (she was not there)

FYI, the new list for Chennai:

The security guys show a printed list of docs that we have to arrange. The additional docs that they are insisting nowadays are:

1. Most recent pay-stub

2. Year 2000 tax returns - I submitted the tax transcripts issued by IRS. If you are submitting photocopy of your returns make sure that you take the W2s with you. Someone was kept waiting for a while for that. (He too got it)

3. Bank Statements

4. PCC - the list carried by the security guy had PCC mentioned on it. I didn\'t have mine. I had no problems. I dodn\'t know whether thay are going to insist it in the future.

I did not have my current employer\'s H-1 visa stamped on the passport. So he asked for the original H-1 approval. No problems with that either.

As a note: I think all the employment based cases for today at Chennai got their GC. I don\'t think anybody was detained for further interview. I was one of the last guys to be called in.

Good Luck to everyone, and happy holidays,

Are original bank statements required to be submitted ?

Are original bank statements required to be submitted or will copies suffice ??? Is it okay to use white-out on the account number ? It\'s really not necessary for the US Embassy to find out about our bank account number.
