gracious, RFE means nothing .. I have a friend whose sent his RFE for 8 months and he is still maarofying taaliyan like heejda.

I got RFE sometime in june and responded to RFE in first week of July. My FP expired in 2nd week of July and I haven't received my 2nd FP yet.

How di you get your 2nd FP? Did you call them and tell them that your FP is expired or they sent you without you doing anything?

Hard to say .. mostly it is .. upto them I think.

I sent my reply in June to the RFE and was sent a FP -2 call in August. It was automatic. I would like to think they co-ordinated with my case but i think its just that the FP had expired

I never informed INS about my job change.

BTW, my RFE asked for EVL, My tax docs, 140 petitioner's tax docs.
 
so the intent for the various docs is:

W2 : you actually made what the offer letter says

I140 petitioner's tax docs: proof of solvency of employer's business and their ability to pay you the promised wage

EVL: you are actually employed (or going to be) employed.

is this correct?

do they also (sometimes) request tax returns for the individual for the past 1/2 years?
 
Here is my suggestion.
If you have received FP notice and RFE, do FP first and respond RFE about a week or two later. FP doesn't generally trigger any manual action because it is all automated. But RFE response means, INS has to locate your file and place the documents in same file.

When they open your file to place your response, they check to see if any action needs to be taken, say your case is > 20months etc. If your case qualifies to be sent to officer, you don't want them to notice that they are awaiting FP results and can't process your case!. Worse, they may PUT YOUR FILE aside for long time, until next RFE or some thing !

This has worked for me and other in 4 - 5 cases of my friends. And unfortunately couple of my friends reponded for RFE first and FP later, are still awiaiting approvals.

hehehe Dumbo .. changa .. whatever u say :)). I chaddo-fyied the shayari because some clean folks here started getting labor pains when trying to shit everyday on my name. (Y'know when you don't eat too much fiber).

and wac-ed in CA, yes that is correct. Except from the wording of it, it sounds like "After you get ur GC, ur gonna make this much, but for now we just wanna make sure that you were able to self-sustain without breaking any laws.".
