Passport Stamped in Chicago.
My details are:
VSC EB2 INDIA LC 6/98 I140 12/98 PD 01/09/99 ND 03/17/00 FP 03/29/01
RFE 04/26/01 RFE Rcvd 5/3/01 RFE sent 5/16/01 RFE Rcved by INS 5/21
AVM updated by INS 05/24/01 as APPROVED.
Received approval courtesy copy 05/29/01..To my address
Received original approval on 5/31/01..to my lawyer office
Meantime applied for passport renewal in Chicago and got it done on 6/4/01 and went for stamping on 6/6/01.
Stamping details:
Went to INS office in Jackson blvd at 5.45am by car. Plenty of parking space available at Wabash Ave/Rd. 1/2 blocks away
from INS. Already there were 50-60 guys in line. They allowed us in at 7am and waited for my turn till 9.40am.
Got the stamping done at 10am. INS lady was very very freindly. ( She chatted with my kid almost 10-15 minutes. Nothing regarding to GC)
She asked me to give all the EAD and AP. Also she stamped our passports and also took fingerprint/ADIT photos for my kid ( 8 year) also
along with myself and wife. This is surprise to me. I asked her why, she said that is usual routine. I doubt it.
My approval letter said, any day Mon-Thu 7am-2pm, I can go and get PP stamped. Made sure our address is right one.
With god\'s grace, finally GC journey is getting over. One last thing our cards may come within 6-12 months.
