High guys, here is my situation, my case number is sky high 2010 AF70***. Though I am in status, my visa has expired and only my valid I20 keeps me in status. I can't risk to go back to my country for the simple reason that I have already sacrificed a lot to get where I am and I can't possibly jeopardized it : After 3 years of hard work, I have almost completed all the examinations to be at last a certified medical doctor in the US!
If my number (ever) becomes current, it will be in September. My question is : is it possible to hire a lawyer that can walk me through and speed the process fast enough for me to do the interview and receive the GC within the same month ???? thank you so much

I strongly doubt that any lawyer has enough power to speed up the AOS process. It has certain steps, and there are time frames for each of these steps set by USCIS (NOA, biometrics, interview, etc.). In practice, it takes more than two months, sometimes much more. If you have a clean record with USCIS, you may try CP - a much more plausible path to the GC with your number.

number 1: just because your stamped visa is expired, there is nothing to worry about. your I-20 keeps u in status.

number 2: You can do CP in 2 weeks max, and be back in the US to continue life. Even if you miss out on DV, there are other avenues i.e. Highly skilled professionals, doctors in hardship areas etc, that can put you on GC route.

so all I am saying is that you should not see the high number as a big deal. U are way further ahead than most.

Thank you guys for your replies. I'll see a lawyer anyway next week , and see what they will tell me. Actually, since the second NL comes around 1 month 1/2 before the interview, I was hoping it was possible to start the procedure (NOA, biometrics,...) that early, so that the day of the actual interview, I have done most of the papework
