I just got off the phone with Singapore Consulate in San Francisco. The lady on the phone told me no visa required but you must have a valid 6 months RTD. However, they will not allow re-entry premit. It says it's not a valid travelling document. I'm a green card holder and recently applied for re-entry permit. My question is, can I use re-entry permit everywhere I go or only to few countries? or is it better to continously renew my RTD? which one is a better option?

my understanding is re-entry permit is a valid travel document for GC holder and many countries accept it

if no visa required for RTD, go ahead to use RTD

some countries accept RTD and RP, some dont. llike Dubai does not accept any RP or RTD from USA. Some of them required visa for RP and not for RTD and some of the other way around.
Basically you have to check with all Embassies and see what they accept.
I rather have RP for two years than having RTD for a year, and pay for Visa.
They way it goes, in almost two years the application fee has been increased from 110 to $170 right now and it may go up to $200 (RTD $200/Y vs. PR $200/2Y )
