since when begin the 24 months for a rentry permit?

I am a LPR since 1 february 2006.
I was abroad USA for 3 months, now i`m in US
I need a rentry permit to work abroad
Since when Have I do count 24 months for rentry permit :
- since the date i have written to leave in the rentry permit or
since the date i became LPR (february )?

legally,u can leave the country as soon as u file for an application,however it is safe to leave once u get ur confirmation(certified mail)...
the 24 months starts from the date the rep gets approved...
so if u mail in ur application tomorrow and get ur rep in aug/sep...it will be valid till aug/sep 08.

are u working for a american company abroad?
