simple question on advanced parole

Folks,

Is there a limit on the time you can be out of the country
(of course it has to be at least less than a year as APs
are usually for an year) when you are travelling on advanced
parole. Reason I asked this is that me and my spouse went
on vacation to India on first week of october, I came back
in first week of November, but my spouse was planning
to come back in last week of december (still less then 3 months).

Now she wants to postpone her return ticket to 15 Feb
which will be around 4 and 1/2 months.

Let me know if you have any info on this.

Thanks.
JC.

My 2c worth..

If it is less than 6 months then it is not a problem. If it is not primary applicant then beyond 6 months also may not be a problem but make sure (s)he comes back at least couple of weeks before AP expiry. If it is beyond 6 months then depending on the BCIS official at POE may ask some questions do some more checking etc. etc.

If it is primary applicant then it is possible they may send the person for secondary inspection to local BCIS office and ask questions like the basis of GC and why some one has to be out of the country for such a long time etc.
