Sign Petition against the H1B abolishment bill

Your signing of petition does not count anyway. Only voice of citizens matter and those soon to be citizens.
Besides, I think this bill is step in right direction.

At least think normal when you are out of BIHAR :D:D

H1Bs are a endangered specie.
Very soon GC holders too will be endangered.

We would be having our pictures in museums all over the world.

I will be glad to have our pictures in museums all over the world. At least people in the future can learn that at one time, we did exist :)

Truth be told, how may GC holders and potential GC holders will really sign this? Given the current scenario, I would not be surprised, if quite a few of the above people would hope this bill gets passed.

Can I tell a story?

This reminds me - in my school - after the secondary exams - they had limited seats for the +2. Our class mates who were not admitted started doing picketing and disruptions in front of the school. Afterwards - there were some seats open - and some of them were admitted and they immediately stopped the agitation and went back to class.

Moral of the story is there is no morality. We just forget how we reached here and start whinning about those H1 guys taking our jobs.

First of all, Bills like these won't be passed on a blanket scale.
Even if they are passed, there will be lot of modifications, lot of ifs and buts etc . Even if this Bill gets passed as it is, it has very little significance . Nobody is newly coming to USA (barring a few exceptions) on H1 visa now a days and most of the people here have already begun GC process and the remaining people will follow suit very shortly. The worst affected wil be the foreign students. If the things continue to go down in the next 3 or 4 years, then the focus will be on GC holders (to apply conditions on them for employment etc). But they can't really do anything against GC category because it is a very powerful group(millions of people).

The important factor is that if this bill gets passed, lot of colleges/universities will be in dire straits as they depend on the foreign students and a lot of foreign students study in US hoping to get a job on H1 after completion.
