TSC says that they are processing cases from April 04. I have not seen LUD change on my case since September 04. My wife got an RFE, but still no activity on my case. I am not sure if they have separated our cases or what is wrong!!

I have been on one visa or another for 13 years. Just want to get on with our life, and stop having to keep thinking about what type of visa do I need to file next.

You already know my story. Until recently there was no activity on my 485 while they issued an RFE on my wifes 485. It has now been 5 months since we replied to the RFE and just last week the LUD on my 485 changed. What I am trying to say is that there is hope.

You have a right to be upset but don't let it frustrate you to a point that it becomes harmful to your daily living. You are also right in thinking of all the possibilities for the delay. I can think of the following -

1. Some sort of admin delay.

2. Name Check delay.

3. Separated Files.

If I were you I would write an email and a letter to the Ombudsman office and state your problem. Also try to get updates from the FBI regarding the status of your name check. As a last resort you can approach your area Congressman or Senator.

Thanks for your reply and words of encouragement. I called TSC using POJ's method, and was told that my FBI namecheck was pending, and it can take up to a year to get it cleared. Is there anything I can do to get it done faster. I had emailed FBI about the namecheck status several months ago, but have not heard back.

In you message you mention "FOIPA". What does this mean. You also give other numbers for FBI---Renee Morton and Debbie Beatty. Is it worth calling these people. The person answering at the first number refused to answer any questions about the name check status. Also, is there anything that will speed the process of name check!!
 
Apologize for the confusion, Do not file FOIPA, keep this option for last, but first follow this the following option.


Here is in my opinion you should follow:


Compose 2 simple Letter (minimum lines) include your info like name addr phone, email, ur Alien #(impt), with requesting them to give the status or ur name-check,

and send them

Name check

Someone please let me know what it TSC and how to reach them. My name check is pending for 2 years. I have done everything but not this yet.
 
Contact congressmen/women

ab kya karun,

Asking congressmen/senators in your area is an option. I do not know if really speeds up things or not , but it may not hurt.

I have written letters to the FBI as mentioned your posting. have not heard from either of them.
So finallay I have sent request for FOPIA. Is it going to have an negative effect?
