Business casual should be OK.
Depends on each case, whether there are lots of questions that need to be asked or not. I would think about 0.5~1.5 hour.
Business casual should be fine for the interview. Business casual should be fine for the oath ceremony as well. I wore a suit and tie and people thought that I was an USCIS officer
I applied based on 5-year permanent residency and had a straight-forward case. The interview lasted about 15 to 20 minutes only.
I assume you are asking about husband and wife both of which applied for naturalization at the same time. You will be interviewed separately. In our case, we were interviewed separately by two different officers.
How about just wear a bear costume. That would surely make you stand apart from the rest of the applicants and leave an indelible impression on the IO!
Business casual works, full suit would also work but a nice blazer jacket, and a tie are very appealing without pushing it to far.
These (interview and oath ceremony) are very important events in your life and you need to show your pride dressing accordingly. Besides the good impression you'll cause to your interviewer showing your respect to the whole process and to them. (Nothing wrong with looking better than the regular John doe )
I wore a blazer to my interview and will do it again for my ceremony. It took no more than 20 minutes. Good luck!
