should PD b current for I485 to be approved?

I know many of them are as confused as I am..My ND/RD is in nov 1999 and my PD is Aug 1997..So the 485 is approved only when PD is current isnt it?

Any deduced estimated time frame?

In order to apply for I-485, your PD has to be current, not approval.

Are you saying that for approval it is NOT mandatory that PD is current..I have an EAD already so dos this mean I could get approval without the PD being current? Can you confirm this..?

PD needs to be current for the approval to happen. If the guy had applied for I-485 when the date was current and had retrogressed after filing I-485,then he/she has to wait till the date becomes current again for the approval. In this scenario the guy may get "No Visa Available" letter even if INS tries to approve the application.

You\'re wrong...the PD also has to be current for you to get a visa.
