My company has promised to sponsor my Green Card since 2001 and I have letters from my 1st lawyer acknowledging that he should move forward with the permanent visa application back then. The company changed lawyers and continued with the LCA application process, filed 1 year ago.
Now the new lawyer is saying that "the laws" have changed and it is up to "Corporate" to provide him with some documentation needed to continue my process.
Unfortunately my "authorized stay" expires in three months and I have been asking them for getting my 7th-year H1B extension but they keep saying that everything is either "in control" or "up to Corporate to decide." I'm afraid there is a hidden problem somewhere and they are just waiting until the day before I have to leave this country to tell me that things went astray. By then I won't have time to give my landlord 30-day advance leave notice, sell my car, my furniture or even to find myself a new job overseas.
All these past years I have been putting up with the anxiety of having to live with this uncertainty and was recently diagnosed with hypertension, which I believe has been aggravated as a consequence of stress from thinking about my situation all the time.
Am I being victim of an injustice? What should I do? Peaceful conversation no longer seems to be solving the problem.
Thanks.
