should I renew EAD if I-140 approved

Hi,

My EAD is valid until 08/10/05. It is almost time to apply for renewal.
(I have never used it though - I am using H1)

My I-140 was approved on 4/14/05. My I-485 is not yet approved.

It sounds a little silly, but I dont know how it works.
How long should I keep renewing my EAD.

That depends. I had an H-1B that expired 1 month after I submitted my I-485. I never bothered to renew the H-1B and worked only using my EAD which I renewed once. Some people don't like the option I chose because they say if my application were denied then I didn't have and H-1B to fall back on. I always could have applied for another one if things went that way. If your H-1B is valid for a few more years...etc. I would not bother with an EAD. From your info though I would predict an approval for you soon the way things have been going. It's your choice.
 
waitingnwaiting -- It is safe to wait atleast till 05/10/05 to apply for the EAD renewal as you can always get a Temperory EAD from the district office if you dont get it by 08/10/05 as it would have passed 90 days. Also I have a feeling that you will get yur I-485 very soon. Even my I-140 was approved on 04/09/05 and I got the I-485 approval on 04/13/05 (3 working days). So good luck !!!!
