Should I live in US if I apply for consular processing

Once my I140 is approved , Should I live in the US in order to continue the consular processing??

I have applied for Concurrent filing and I am on EAD/AP based on I-485, If I apply for I-824( Consular processing) and leave India will that be O.K to attend interview and come back to US after greencard approval at US Consulate in india??

GC is for future job,the purpose of Consular processing is to get Immigrant Visa from outside United states.There shouldn't be any problem as long as you can produce the required documents.

And yes,you should file I-824 to change from AOS to CP (even for Attorney certified I-140).
