Should I go for third EAD now or later?

Here's the case: FP2 5/20/04, EAD Expire 10/16/04

Should I wait till July or August for EAD renewal, hoping that there's a chane that GC approval would come first?

Or start EAD now, which is still kind of early, and endup having two fingerprint back to back?

EADs are taking about 4 months. So must apply before 6/16 - to be safe -and eligible for iEAD. For EAD no FP is required- if you file by paper.
 
Wait till July

I think you will get approval pretty soon.
Wait till july if not approved by then, than file for 3rd EAD to trigger movement on your case.

I would apply. There have been a few of us who have hoped for green card approval without EAD renewal but I don't think it's a chance I could take. My 3rd EAD got approved today (I applied in February). Looks like it's currently taking around 3 months.

I would say... APPLY it by mid of June

Paying some money can assure the validity of your working status and waiting might kill the prospect of getting an iEAD too.

Just think that you donated some money to somebody who was not even in need ;)
 
Apply it now!

My 2nd EAD is expiring in Jan 2005. I will apply next month. If you are in Baltimore or a similar shitty district, after 3 months of pending application, you have to wait "2 to 4 weeks" to get an appt for interim card. That makes a minimum of 4 months + 2 weeks when the application is mailed but not received by VSC to get IEAD. Add 1.5 months on top of it to account for sudden change of BCIS "workload" or delay at the local district.

I got IEAD from Baltimore 3 days before I was being fired.

My suggestion is to apply now and have peace of mind.
 
Just did FP2. I'll apply by the end of June if still no good news. That leave more than 3 months. In NYC, you can get iEAD on-site if you try hard enough.

I'm on pretty good terms with my company. I can take the rest of the year off and still be able to survive ^_^
