Should I file EAD with my I-485 with I-140 approved?

I just got my EB1A approved. I am preparing for I-485. My question is whether I shoud apply EAD for myself, or my wife, or for both.

Here is the situation.

I am a company employee, and my wife is doing her 2nd year postdoc. She'd like to find a job in about 1 year. Even though there is no sign that I will be laid-off any time soon ( I mean within one year), the possibility is always there (you know the situation of working in industry).

What will be your suggestions on whether we should apply EAD?

I can not express enough my appreciation for your help as always.

You can apply for both the EAD(I-765) with your I-485 at the same time. My immigration lawyer filed both for my daughter, my wife and myself at the same time. I think it will be advisable to do both at the same time since your wife is expected to be working in about a year like you said. If you don't file for the EAD now, then you might have to file later or wait for your GC which i doubt will be ready in 1 year.
