Should i call them ? Pl suggest...

I e-filed(with TSC) my EAD renewal on the 3rd week of Dec'03. The current processig time for EAD is 01/05/2004, but i didn't get a status on my case so far. I knew there are some other members didn't get their's as well. It's almost 70 days now, should i wait for 90 days and then apply for iEAD ? or call the 1-800 number to get a status? I hear that even if i call cust svce, i am not going to get the answer right away, it's going to take 30 days or so to get back to me on the inquiry. I am little worried to call the cust svce, bcas i am thinking that they might issue an RFE if i ask the status on my case(again chances....not sure for RFE). But if they issue an RFE, then i cannot get an iEAD after 90 days right ?(pl correct me if i am wrong). My employer already started asking for the renewal EAD. If i don't produce the renewed EAD by Mar'25'2004, i am going to be in trouble.

I need you guys help here ! Pl help me to make the correct decision.

If you have submitted all required and related docs, calling BCIS is fine...

If you are unsure (i.e., not submitted I-140 approval copy)...get an iEAD first..
 
I have seen many problems with people who applied for EAD (online) it should be the easiest and fast way to do that but I don't think it is...
We applied for ours EAD (by mail and by ourselves) first week of december and even that they asked us to make an appointment
for biometrics, (I don't know why because we had mailed them our pictures),we still got our EADs in less then 2 months.
That is why I recomend:
Next time don't do e-filed,better be safe than be sorry!
And if you do by mail make sure you get a "return receipt" and "certified mail" from post office...You pay $ 4 more but INS can't say they didn't get it!
