Hi,
Company A where I used to work at was bought over by company B in November 04. As per the rules, my current H1 (in the name of company A) is still valid for company B (Millenium Act, I beleive). The H1 expires in Nov 06 so I have some time.
However, I was speaking to the lawyer and she said that it is a bit risky to travel abroad on a H1 and I797 that mentions company A and no mention of company B except for an HR letter.
Now, company B is willing to do a new H1 for me.
My questions are:
1) If yes, should it be H1 tranfer or H1 renewal
2) Has anyone been in this situation and what decision did he/she make?
