Should application for EAD be filed along with I-485?

My lawyer is about to file my 485 application. can somebody suggest if it would be a good idea to ask her to file for EAD too? also, once its filed, how do i track my receipt date and notice date, etc.? what would i need to know?

If you ever want to file for EAD then ask her to file it along with 485. For tracking receipts, in this discussion group there are several threads on month basis. Right now there are threads for April, May, June and July. I hope some one will start August thread soon. Actually it is time to start August thread now...
