My fiance was convicted of shoplifting (apparent value of the items was around $200) in California in 1997/1998. She had to pay about a $400 fine and got 18 months probation. She is currently still in the country on a student visa and we plan to marry later this year. I am a US Citizen. Will we have trouble getting her status adjusted to a green card?
