Dear all,
I am reporting here my recent experience and would appreciate input from Gurus.
Our case details are as follows:
NIW I140 (receipt/priority date is August 1, 2003, current cut-off date is July 1, 2004 for our catagory)
Approval date: November 16, 2004
I485 Receipt date: December 23, 2004 (current NSC processing date is August 30, 2005)
On June 9, 2006, we called to inquire the status of our I-485 application because it is way outside normal processing time. On June 13, we received an email sugguesting that our I-140 priority information is missing in USCIS system as quoted below:
“Since I cannot find any filing for the form I-140 I do not know the
priority date for you. Therefore I cannot tell you when this case will be
approved. We approved this type of case by the priority date on the
form I-140.”
We are totally and utterly shocked by the ridiculous message. I had to call back and was escalated to someone else. She verified all my info to be true and she said this case should be approved right now but she could not log in any database to help me. Instead, she sugested printing out that email, writing a memo, attach all notices, and sending a letter to USCIS.
My feeling is beyond anger. What else can be done to speed things up?
We already faxed the email with supporting documentation to our senator and congressman.
Does anyone has any better ideas?
For the record, my attorney should be fired.
How could the imcompetent officers be punished?
