Hi, I need advice for the following info.

Category EB3/RIR
I485 filed: Apr 25th
EAD Approved : June 20th
Center : Texas service center
Current Processing Date : 08/10/2000

I'm thinking to shift my processing to CP at chennai. So I came to know that I need to file I824 form.

I need you'll advices on this process...

Anybody out there in this type?

And also is it good decision for me to approach at this stage?

Thanks in advance.

shifting to CP

IMHO
Depends on if your consulate accepts AC (Attorney Certified) 140 in which case you only need I-824 receipt and then your attorney can send the necessary papers along with the 140 approval notice to the consulate directly
However, if your consulate requires I 824 approval and then routes its through NVC etc which then routes it to the consulate, it may not be worth it. (especially since u have EAD)

I guess it is not a wise decision as I824 is unpredectable.

AC140 process

Chennai does not do the AC140 process. If you have ever had a visa issued by Mumbai or New Delhi then they will accept your case for AC140. the I824 process is extremely erratic and I don't think it makes sense to switch over at this point. Stick with your EAD. You're in good shape.
