SEVIS status is showing as cancelled

Hi

I am pursuing MBA Finance and i got F-1 I-20 during August and i applied for Change of status from H-4 to F-1 and it got approved during December.

Recently i got a job offer (Internship) and i applied for CPT and then my college CPT department mentioned that my sevis status is showing as cancelled. I was asked to contact office of International student affairs(OISA) but the main person was on vacation and will not back until next week. One of the OISA person told that sevis is cancled because your status has been changed. I can't understand that -- it was through sevis that i got I-901 form and applied for Change of status using I-539 form. How come now it show as sevis status as cancelled. How come they enrolled me from Dec till date?
What is the fix for this? How many days is it going to take for Sevis status to be active. Do any body has idea. Can they issue me CPT during this time while they do the fix.

F-1 visa is not dual intent, when you apply for change of status to H4 visa, other visa which is on F-1 visa goes void. You need to wait and contact OISA.
 
Hi,

I am having a similar problem. My SEVIS status has been auto-cancelled due to a name issue. My first name - last name combination is not matching with the one used in school. Did you get your issue resolved? If so, how long did it take you? My school does not have an idea and any pointers would be appreciated!
