Service Request/inquiry - What to expect?

Hi fellows
My Notice date is 05/10/2006 and the processing date is 15/10/2006, at TSC.
I talked with an immigration officer to day at about 8:30 AM. As Texas guys did not show up early, my call was routed to NSC. A good lady said that she will open a service request/inquiry, I am not sure if both are same, but she used both the words during our conversation. Now the question is, what do I expect?
Did any of you guys had done this before/recently, what was the outcome?
please shed some light on this matter so that I can plan ahead and work.

Hi Rama:

My processing is similar to yours except that my RD is a bit earlier. I called Fri last week and they opened a service request. Still haven't heard anything from them regarding this. My guess is that they'll send a reply saying that the background checks are ongoing. Since there are no LUDs at all, I sure hope they at-least look at my files.

Same here, my LUD is 10/18 and nothing happens after that. I think I just have to wait, before they come up with my card?
Did you to do the infopass?
I am not sure how many have ramakrishna as their name? If common name is the real reason behind delay in background check?

I think there are a combination of reasons. First, FBI has to send the results of namecheck to USCIS. Second, an officer at USCIS has to open these files and check. My guess is that the 485 transfers from VSC and CSC is having an impact. They have to maintain the priority dates of all these cases and merging them I am sure might have caused minor chaos as well as resource crunch.

Even if all these are not the factor, as you say the big thing is the namecheck status.

Also, I haven't done infopass yet, considered it and checked with my lawyer but he said go for call first.

For now all we can do is wait. :rolleyes:

Do you see any LUD on your application. I have seen one today, dated 05/11/07. Most probably they opened my case and trying to answer the service request, opened by this lady on April 30th. The reason I am presuming this is, I do not see a LUD on my spouses 485 application. Let me wait and see what reason I will receive.
How about you, did you receive any LUD on your application.
