For entertainment purpose: ( tried to post in the WBH thread..but it is already closed)

I got some questions too

1. Can we put on perfume to the interview? (some officer may be allergic to certain colognes) . What are the chances of denial if the IO doesn't like my perfume?
2. Do we need to shave and be clean? or Can I have mustache?
3. How about manicure and pedicure?
4. Should we greet the IO with a :

Hi
Whats up? (If the IO is a AfricanAmerican)
Howdy? (if the interview is in TX)
Hola! (for Latino IO)

5. Should we take a blue or black ink pen?
6. Can we eat chewing gum? or a altoid or some other mouth fresheners?
7. What if we gotta go ( :D ) during the interview? Can we say restroom or bathroom? Do you think it will irritate the interviewing IO?
8. Do we need to tuck in our shirts?
9. Can we wear glasses ? My photos are with contact lenses, so would wearing glasses constitute hiding a material fact and be reason for denial?

Really? All my photographs (N400, NC, passport application) are with glasses. Only my GC photograph (semi-sideways) does not have glasses. And of course they took that one away at the Oath :(

See ... you can get to add to your knowledge even from humorous discussions :)

Yup. No question is dumb. Thats how American ( I am not yet USC :D ) kids grow here...they just keep asking questions..some don't make sense at all...but they still ask them anyway...in fact, even at work...some just ask lot of questions not because they want to..but just to show that they're following or be visible... :D:D

2. What to Eat for breakfast on the day of I/W
3. Should I brush on the dy og I/w

Please answer these while I ruminate on some more questions

On the humorous line, and although I'm past the interview stage ;) Should interviewees from some countries where greeting a female includes kissing one or both cheeks do that to a female IO? Would it be too cheeky? If the interviewee doesn't do that, would the IO become suspicious and think the interviewee might have faked the country of origin? On the other hand, would an impostor interviewee who's not from the country he claims to be misinterpret the tradition and kiss the wrong cheeks? These are very important and valid questions. I am sure a high percentage of N-400 denials are due to not taking care of these etiquette extremely important details ;) :D

WBH - take this in the right spirit, else the moderator will shut this down too.

Laughing myself aloud here in the office.....Seriously Milk, that was real entertainment....I can see WBH contemplating buying guns to shoot us all once he is done with his OATH :)

I am quite surprised by your stupid questions MILK. You are wasting others time and seriousness on this valuable forum.
You are about to become a citizen which means you have lived for a while in America and should be quite familiar with american culture by now. Also you are a professional work with a good pay.
If you really don't know the answers to the question you posted, think twice of becoming a citizen as you are so devoid of American culture.

Absolutely! America is one of the few countries in the world where talk show hosts joke about the President without fear of reprisals, and the President himself pokes fun at himself and his cabinet on national tv at the annual press club dinner. There are many countries where you could be thrown into prison for joking about political figures. This is I think one of the things I admire about this country. I dont see why this forum should be devoid of good humor, provided it is related to immigration, done in good taste and without insulting anyone.

Right on!!

Lukizen , People have freedom of speech and expression being in America but that doesn't mean you can say whatever you want on others. That violates others freedom.

Having said that..I will express my freedom of speech and say lukizen did not get what we're trying to do in this thread and we can tell him/her to crawl back to the little hole or cube and hibernate. I'm guessing he/she thinks the questions I posed at the beginning of the thread are "real"

Like Prithis said greatness of America lies in the way the business is conducted..very freindly and fun at work is the NORM....that is the American culture...not sure what lukizen thinks.....may be he can shed some light on it and enlighten members of this forum on his "version" of American culture
