Gentlemen,
I am a starter in the GC process. Of course with lots of questions.
Here I am seeing the RD dates going way back into 2001 August.
So here is my question for the Gurus!
Currently NSC is processing applications dated 06/2001. Is this date is the priority date(PD) of the applicant? Assuming PD is the day SESA receives the Labor Certification Application.
If the date is nothing but PD then what is the RD date mentioned in the posts over this board? Can you please let me know your corresponding PD dates?
Please enlighten me with your knowledge.
Thanks
Rvalla
At this time, do not give much importance to PD since all of them are current. What matters is the notice date on your I-485 receipt. Currently, INS Nebraska is processing cases with ND of Aug 2001 (officially) but the fact is that there are few Oct 2001 approvals already.
Always add a month to the official timings, either for I485, I765 or I-140 petitions. Unless something dramatic happens, you can safely calculate when you can expect your I-485 to be approved based on the assumption that they move cases by one month every month. With my ND of Aug 2002, I am not expecting to hear my I-485 approval in the next 9 months atleast. So the only thing we can do is keep ourselves busy with our lives after filing I-485 and check the progress of INS processing once in a while.
Which means the whole process took
about 15 months from the notice date,
with an RFE. Not great, but not bad.
The negative side of it is that my wife's
application (which was filed along with
mine) was transferred to a local
office on 2/10/2003. Presumably this is
so she can be interviewed to verify the
legitimacy of our marriage. We were
married 3 months before the I-485 was
filed.
