Got GC stamped today finally after about 11 yrs of adventure.
Here is long yawning story:
Came US Jan’94 – MBA.
1st GC attempt – changed job before labor approval
2nd GC attempt – laid off post 9/11 Dec’01- before 140 approval.
New Job Feb’02
3rd GC attempt-
Started labor May’02 – EB2/RIR. Lived/worked in TSC- Co HO in VSC/DE – applied VSC. Labor approval took about 4 months.
140/485 applied concurrently Sept’02 – Got FP1/EAD/AP etc pretty quickly.
EAD2 approved Oct’03
Laid off Oct’03(before 140 approval).
140 Approved – Nov’03
New job Jan’04 – in NSC
Applied address change and AP2 Jan’04. AP2 approved 04/04
Applied AC21 April’04- sent everything - few recent paystubs + 2 yrs W-2+ tax returns + new company financials.
FP2 did 6/7 ND:5/15 – ( Schd -on 6/25 in TSC at old address) – did it at new address – and early.
Changed jobs 6/15 – to CSC (from NSC)
LUD 6/30 (1st LUD change since FP1).
Approved 8/5 - recd email + status changed
Stamped today -8/20 – at new address- California. Stamping was totally uneventful- no questions- give 2 pictures (frontal) and Passport (with I-94). Got the stamped Passport back in 20 mins. They did not ask old AP/EADs – so I did not give anything. No questions about different location or job change- did carry new EVL. Lawyer advised against volunteering anything.
Still have to deal with some address change issues- G731V etc- as I have changed address after approval.
Birth Certificate – Did not submit anything but affidavits.
No RFE ever, did not ever contact Congressmen etc, no expedite request.
Bottom line - changed many jobs on H1 plus 2 job changes after 485 filing. Touched all 4 Service centers during this GC process.
Always believed – it will eventually get done- despite everything never panicked or felt constrained.
How do I feel after approval– nothing – at best a little relief – nothing more.
The forum was always a good sounding board- fun, ideas, whining, spending time.
Good luck to all Don't Worry Be Happy- it will eventually get done.
