Hello Friends ,

Yesterday INS sent me a notice for fingerprinting again.I am suprised by this as i had done my fingerprinting in Feb 2002.I called the FBI to confirm the finger prints. They took my EAC number and said that those finger prints were fine and that the results have been sent back to INS by Feb 22 2002.They said that there was no issue with the finger prints.

In my earlier post i had posted that my finger printing was done in Feb 2001 by mistake.

the appointment for that is in the Philly INS office sometime in March.

2 questions here please..

1.Any reason why INS is sending out a second finger printing notice.?

2.In the Philly INS office can i go earlier than the date they mentioned to finish the formality..

This is the forum which taught me to stand up to an adverse situations with the GC.

Please advise ...

Thanks

FP done Feb 20 2002
NOID /RFE received by INS on Jan 9 2003..

Some suggestions:

1. Call VSC to find out. and/or
2. Call Philly INS office if you have the number.

I think fingerprint may expire in one year. Maybe this is the reason why you have to do the finger print again. Unless you are absolutely sure that you do not need to do FP again, please go to the INS office to do it on the appointment day. It does not hurt anything. If they require you to do FP but you did not show up, the INS will consider that as you have abodoned the case.

I think

fingerprints are valid for 15 months. I had my FP done in Feb as well. Hope I don't have to re do them. I am a Dec RD case.

Why are fingerprints valid for only 15 months, for adults the fingerprints hardly change....

does it mean all FP's they collected from Afganistan are now useless. that a criminal cannot be convicted if 15 months after the crime is committed..

Can you please share with us the source of your information.

From what I've heard

through discussions on this forum, it seems the FBI check needs to be redone if 15 months have passed after being fingerprinted...so they might need a new set of fingerprints to initiate that FBI check.
