GCDeewana:

I guess it was CURRENT at that time (I was NIW, EB2 and I-140 was filed on 03/2002), so no PD issue(?).

Wow! They took two+ years before actual processing of your I-485 after I-140 approval?! This sucks... Did you get Fingerprint notice Code 2? When, if any?

I guess my case could be the worst example in this forum. I could do nothing but waiting. my FBI name check was not done until Jan. 2005, so this could be one of the reasons. However the dependent's namecheck was done Jan.2003, two years difference between us. It is very werid. hope this would not happen to anyone any more.
Yes, I got 2nd FP on May/2004. I can't remember the code, but they took prints from my all fingers.
wish you guys all the best.

Just got my passport stamped this morning in LA district office. the infopass appointment was 7:45am, arrived at around 7:25am and entered the building around 7:30am. took a number and be called within 5 min., then an INS officer asked for appointment letter, approval notice, passport, I-94 cards, EADs, APs and two photos, and Driver License. He checked his computer and took my index finger print and signature, returned the passport and DL, congratulated me and explanined that I have rights to work, travel, etc. I was told that the card will be sent to me between 2-6 months. The same procedure went to the dependent. It took about 20 mins for both of us. The officer was very nice.

this procedure is the 'old' one posted on this forum. I am waiting for the biometric notice if any.

good luck to everyone.
