Separation and citizenship

Hi,

My husband (from France) and I are separated and he's supposed to apply for citizenship on October 2006. My question is: if he applies and we're still separated, will he have his application accepted of denied (means he has to wait 2 more years instead of only 3)? Is that like if we're divorced? We're still married, but we're just not living together. If he still can apply, do I have to sign the application for him?

Thanks a lot.

I believe the requirement is to be married and living together. So i think he needs to wait till he completes 5 yrs (he can apply 90 days before his 5th anniversary).

You are not required to sing his application.

as far as i know,if a person gets married to a citizen...they need to stay togethor for 3 yrs to be eligible for naturalization!!!

I believe he will be eligible for naturalization, under the circumstances, after 5 years of permanent residence, not 3 years anymore.
