My wife and I have been notified by someone that USCIS interviews can be done
husband and wife separated, is this standard practice? Is it USCIS officers discretion? Does our skin color matter? Does our place of origin matter?
Just wondering out loud. (I have nothing to fear)

Any people with such interview experiences? If so what part of the world do you come from?

usually, they only give a separated interview when it seems the marriage has
some problems .like a big age gap ,etc. i mean when they don't see the marriage is a bonafide, they would check more, even tough! Otherwise, the couple will be interviewed together.

the skin color and place of origin can't be the problem usually, so be easy!!!

just to be well prepared before interview!

Its called a Stokes interview and its not standard practice unless they have real doubts about the reality of your marriage. I wouldn't worry about it personally.

Well, it doesn't just depend on whether they're suspicious or not. Here in Columbus, OH, any couple I know that went to the interviews, all got separated interviews. Even when we went to the interview, there were 4 couples ahead of us, they were all questioned separately. I think it's just the common practice in this specific DO.

I don't think it's a standard procedure in certain DO.

A friend of ours had their interview separately (I believe b/c of their age, they were younger).

My husband and I (in the same DO, same interview building) were not separate, it was together.

I would say, maybe age, but I would agree that it seems they have some questions about the marriage but no worries, it must be just a standard thing.

Good Luck!!!
