Finally we (me & spouse) got the magic mail from USCIS saying that “This case has been approved. On September 29, 2004”. on Friday.

FP2(09/03/2004) (Scheduled). My wife got her notice for FP2 on 09/04 but it was scheduled for 09/03. Went to Newark on the next business day 09/07 and explained the reason and gave her finger printing. They said she need to reschedule but she insisted and shown them the postmark date on the notice then they let her do her FP2.
